Abstract
The objective of these short notes is to describe the reciprocal relationship between the variables and the objectives of an investigation. The guidelines for clear, logical and operational objectives that must respond to the problem of the research project by expressing the knowledge that is intended to be achieved in the specific area contained in a scientific manuscript. Similarly, the aim is to evaluate the relationship between objectives and variables, and how these variables have an influence on the design of the research as well as on the validation of the results.
Keywords : Variables; Objectives; Scientific article
Introduction
The specific objectives of an investigation are one of the most critical points. They are extracted from the variables or dimensions and allow us to understand how to respond to the problematic situation raised in the section of the introduction. In this way, it guides the answers to the research question and the results' validity and reproducibility. This validity and reproducibility of the results depend directly on the correct verification of them. The correlation between variables and objectives allows to description the goals that are to be achieved during the research [1].
The variable has been considered as a fundamental element in the research [2]. From the variables, objectives or hypotheses are constructed. To achieve the objectives or respond to the hypotheses of a study, the methodological aspects to be carried out are structured and that demonstrate the behaviours of the specific variables of the research.
The variables of an investigation are everything that will be measured, the set of data that respond to the objectives. However, when considering the specific objectives, the variables that will be measured during the methodological protocol of the study and that respond to the specific objectives must be chosen in the same way [3].
The variables answer the questions of the research; these measurable attributes are contained in the synthesis that represents the title of the article or scientific research. The logical structure of the protocol of a scientific study must handle the following criteria: statement of the problem, identification of the set of variables and following the structural order, enunciate the system of the objectives.
A systematic approach allows establishing the dynamic and interactive relationships between the problem, the variables and the objectives of the scientific study. The general objective is produced in a logical way at the expense of the problem statement and the specific objectives are generated in a logical way of the variable system. Of the objectives, the research design is realized and developed.
The general objective globalizes the research and responds to the for which of study? Moreover, the Specific objectives that are the specific purposes for which the general objective.
Strategies for the methodological design of a scientific article
The selected strategic plan must answer the questions of the investigation [5]. The research problem described in the introduction section of a scientific article, hypotheses or objectives are the determining factors in the choice of the type of study whether exploratory, descriptive, correlational or explanatory and the variables will be measured qualitatively or quantitatively.
The methods section and the objectives of the research
This section allows the reader to judge the validity and possibility of reproducing the research. The structure of these methods responds to the fulfilment of the objectives and the structure of this design allows establishing the interactions between causes-effect. In the same way, whether or not there is coherence with the results of the research.
The variables and the methods section in a scientific article
The variables participate in all phases of the scientific project. Once the object of the research has been defined, the study has been delimited and the objectives identified, the methodological process is structured taking into account the practical and logical variables that will respond to the objectives of the research. In such a way, that the type of method, the population and the sample among other elements will be influenced by the variables to be taken into account by the researcher to respond to the problematic situation studied.
The method of a study or research project, in addition to describing in detail the procedures to respond to how the problem was studied? Contains all that set of attributes susceptible to change, which have been identified from the title of the research, and that in the section of methods of a scientific article, are described, studied, controlled or measured when transformed into operational variables.
Conclusion
The clarity with which the objectives of a research expressed allows the reader to review and analyse whether the results expressed correspond to those objectives. In the same way, the reader may be oriented on which variables were considered by the authors in the methodology section, and that allowed arriving at the results presented in the manuscript or paper.
